Gabriella Sacco lives and works in Lucerne. Her installations delve into mechanical image processing and their manipulated nature.
Her use of computer graphics softwares, printing duplicators and engraving machines is programmed to malfunction, creating images and animations that often end up performing repetitive actions without really completing any task. As a result, the final works are graphically and structurally incomplete, symptomatic of a profound lack of purpose; they remain a failed, erroneous act, and yet still in operation.
Often resulting in looping video installations, her works revolve around the domestic environment and the familial dimension of memory – themes which, however, undergo a profound mechanical reinterpretation, becoming fragmented and acquiring a distorted and new narrative quality.
