Gabriella Sacco’s audiovisual installations deal with the nature of computer-based animation and the filmic medium. Puppetry, time and editing are the central mechanisms of the videos’ compositions, mimicking actual reality and life itself. Such elements play with realism and artifice, danger and harmless simulations, resulting in an ambiguous tension between fright and playfulness. Through to this fully constructed medium, the works are made to follow a circular structure, obsessively repeating scenes and enclosing them within a continuous temporal loop. Yet CGI animation also serves as an experimental field in which simulations can create unforeseen variations in form, movement and image.

Gabriella Sacco (Italy, b. 2002) is a visual artist based in Switzerland. She graduated in 2025 at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan.
